In college we invested in members of staff studying the Level 7 Post Graduate Certificate in ALN/Autism as part of our commitment to the changes in legislation but most importantly to build on our success in college in supporting learners to access the college environment and curriculum.
Our Level 7 graduates have been busy developing a toolkit for teaching staff called ‘Consider Autism’. The toolkit has been developed using skills and knowledge developed from the course as well as the voices of young autistic learners at college. Staff will be able to access this toolkit to help them identify needs and provide guidance to implement necessary changes and strategies to support autistic learners in college. Staff will also be able to refer to links and make appointments with the ASD Leads for advice and guidance.
